Starting March 1, 2023, Meta introduced new updates on how conversations are priced for Click-to-WhatsApp Ads(CTWA) or Call-to-Action Buttons. These changes aim to enhance value for businesses while providing users with an engaging experience.
What’s Changing?
- Free Conversations for 72 Hours
- When a user clicks on a Call-to-Action Button in your Click-to-WhatsApp Ad to initiate a conversation, the first conversation is free of charge for the first 72 hours.
- This allows you to communicate freely with your customers within this time window.
- Subsequent Conversations Will Be Charged
After the 72-hour free period, any further conversations with the same user will be charged based on Meta’s Conversation-Based Pricing Model.
Important Notes
- The conversation initiated from the CTWA Ad is free, but the ad itself is not free. Standard advertising costs for running CTWA Ads will still apply.
- If you use a chatbot to reply to messages triggered by CTWA Ads:
- Chatbot sessions will still be counted, even during the 72-hour free conversation window.
How This Benefits You
- Cost Efficiency: Engage with potential customers for 72 hours without additional conversation charges.
- Stronger Connections: Use the free window to build trust, answer inquiries, and provide a seamless user experience.
- Flexibility with Tools: Combine CTWA Ads with chatbots or manual responses for an optimal communication strategy.
